Send per-recipient document links with Stibee

When you send a newsletter or announcement with Stibee, you don't need a separate link per recipient. Drop in the one link FeatPaper gives you and Stibee swaps the tag inside it for each recipient's email as it sends, so you can see exactly who opened the document.

The steps below follow the actual screens in Stibee's own documentation. The originals are linked under Official guides at the bottom of this page.

Copy the link from FeatPaper

1. Open the Share tab on your FeatPaper document.
2. In the Integrations section below, click the Bulk email sending row.
3. In the Send with your email tool dialog, click Copy link on the Stibee row. Each tool uses a different tag, so always copy from its own row.

Paste the link exactly as it is. Deleting the tag or adding spaces stops the substitution, and a document opened that way is recorded without an email.

This feature requires the Pro plan or above.

What you need

• A Stibee account with an address book
• Subscriber emails in that address book
• The Stibee link copied from FeatPaper

Add the link in Stibee

1. Import subscribers into your address book. The email address is a required field.
2. In the email editor, insert and select a text box or button box for the link.
3. Click the link button in the toolbar and paste the FeatPaper link into the link field as is. Keep $%email%$ in it. You can also use the { } merge-tag button next to the field to pick the default field.
4. Click Send test at the top right, send it to yourself, and confirm the link now carries your own email.
5. Once it checks out, send the campaign.

$%email%$ is one of Stibee's default fields. Mail merge itself is a paid feature, but merges using default fields work on the free Starter plan too. Note that Stibee struggles with addresses containing quotes or commas; FeatPaper links contain none, so they work as is.

Check that it worked

1. Open the document from the link in the email you received.
2. On the FeatPaper document, go to the Visitors tab and look under Dedicated link visitors for the address you just opened.
3. A Stibee tag next to the email means the sending tool was recorded too.

If it doesn't work

Do I need to create a custom field?

No. The email address is a default field, so $%email%$ works right away. Creating your own field with the same key would override the default one, so keep keys distinct.

The test send doesn't substitute

On the test send screen there's a box next to the address for entering field values. Fill it in to see the substituted result.

Does this work on the free plan?

Yes. Merges that use default fields work on the Starter plan.
