Embed a Typeform in a PDF
You can put a Typeform right inside a page of your PDF with FeatPaper. Paste the form’s share link into the EMBED tab of the motion editor, and viewers answer the form without leaving the document. It works well for embedding a Typeform survey in a proposal, a sales deck, or an event invite.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- Ask for a quick needs assessment at the end of a sales deck.
- Collect RSVPs on the last page of an event invitation.
- Gather feedback after a training document or onboarding guide.
- Let prospects request a quote from inside a proposal.
Get the link ready
Section titled “Get the link ready”FeatPaper accepts the link to a published form:
https://form.typeform.com/to/FORM_IDhttps://yourteam.typeform.com/to/FORM_ID- Publish the form in Typeform. An unpublished form won’t load.
- Open Share and copy the form link. Links on your workspace subdomain work too, and query strings (like hidden fields) are fine.
- Don’t use Typeform’s home page, template pages, or the form’s admin (edit) URL. The editor rejects them.
Typeform’s own sharing guide is linked under Official guides.
Add it in FeatPaper
Section titled “Add it in FeatPaper”Open the Content tab
Open the document in FeatPaper and go to the Content tab. You need edit rights on the document to see the motion tools.
Open the motion editor
Click the Add video or link card. The full-screen motion editor opens.
Pick the page and the EMBED tab
Select the page in the left sidebar, then click the EMBED tab in the toolbar.
Paste the Typeform link
Paste the link into the Embed URL field and click Add. If you have Typeform’s iframe embed code, you can paste the whole code. FeatPaper pulls out the link from the src="…" part.
Position and resize
Drag the frame to move it and drag the handles to resize it. Arrow keys nudge it (hold Shift for bigger steps).
Save
Click SAVE & EXIT.
What viewers see
Section titled “What viewers see”- Desktop: Typeform appears inside the page, right where you placed it. Viewers don’t leave the document.
- Mobile: On a phone, the Typeform frame shows as a blurred card. When the viewer taps it, Typeform opens full screen in a bottom sheet.
- Downloaded PDF: A PDF can’t run Typeform. FeatPaper replaces the frame with a thumbnail or the Typeform logo that links to the reading view at that page, and adds a QR code at the bottom right of the page. If you turned off the document’s QR setting, the QR code isn’t added.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Motion works on every plan, including Starter.
- This embed doesn’t count toward the video and GIF limit, and there is no size limit. Only uploaded video files and GIF-tab images count.
- Responses go to your Typeform account as usual. FeatPaper doesn’t store them.
- The embed frame starts at half the page width in 16:9, and the ratio isn’t locked. Make it taller if your form has long questions.
- Typeform’s own settings (like hidden fields in the link) still apply.
- After a version update, motions don’t carry over on their own. When you open the editor after an update, FeatPaper asks whether to copy the previous version’s motion content to the same pages and positions.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”The editor says my link isn't supported. What is wrong?
The link isn’t in a format the EMBED tab accepts. Check it against the link shape in Get the link ready above. The editor checks only the link format, so a valid link to content that isn’t shared publicly can still show an error inside the frame.
How does it look on a phone?
The frame shows as a blurred card. Tapping it opens Typeform full screen in a bottom sheet.
What happens when someone downloads the PDF?
The frame becomes a thumbnail or logo that links back to that page in the reading view, and a QR code is added at the bottom right of the page (unless the document’s QR setting is off).
Can I see responses in FeatPaper?
No. Responses stay in Typeform. FeatPaper records page reading time, not what happens inside the form.
My form shows an error inside the frame. What should I check?
Make sure the form is published and that you copied the share link (/to/...), not the edit page URL.
