Embed a Tally form in a PDF
You can embed a Tally form on any page of your PDF with FeatPaper. Paste the form link into the EMBED tab of the motion editor, and viewers fill it in right inside the document. Use it to add a sign-up form to a proposal, a sales deck, or a newsletter-style PDF.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- Collect demo requests on the last page of a sales deck.
- Add a waitlist or sign-up form to a product one-pager.
- Run a short survey inside a report you share with customers.
- Take registrations inside an event or webinar invitation.
Get the link ready
Section titled “Get the link ready”FeatPaper accepts these Tally links and converts them to Tally’s embed form for you:
https://tally.so/r/FORM_IDhttps://tally.so/forms/FORM_IDhttps://tally.so/embed/FORM_ID- Publish the form in Tally. A draft won’t load.
- Copy the share link (the
tally.so/r/...one is the usual choice). - Query parameters on the link are dropped when FeatPaper converts it, so don’t rely on them.
Tally’s own embed guide is linked under Official guides.
Add it in FeatPaper
Section titled “Add it in FeatPaper”Open the Content tab
Open the document in FeatPaper and go to the Content tab. You need edit rights on the document to see the motion tools.
Open the motion editor
Click the Add video or link card. The full-screen motion editor opens.
Pick the page and the EMBED tab
Select the page in the left sidebar, then click the EMBED tab in the toolbar.
Paste the Tally link
Paste the link into the Embed URL field and click Add. You can also paste Tally’s iframe embed code. FeatPaper takes the link from the src="…" part.
Position and resize
Drag the frame to move it and drag the handles to resize it. Arrow keys nudge it (hold Shift for bigger steps).
Save
Click SAVE & EXIT.
What viewers see
Section titled “What viewers see”- Desktop: Tally appears inside the page, right where you placed it. Viewers don’t leave the document.
- Mobile: On a phone, the Tally frame shows as a blurred card. When the viewer taps it, Tally opens full screen in a bottom sheet.
- Downloaded PDF: A PDF can’t run Tally. FeatPaper replaces the frame with a thumbnail or the Tally logo that links to the reading view at that page, and adds a QR code at the bottom right of the page. If you turned off the document’s QR setting, the QR code isn’t added.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Motion works on every plan, including Starter.
- This embed doesn’t count toward the video and GIF limit, and there is no size limit. Only uploaded video files and GIF-tab images count.
- Responses go to Tally. FeatPaper doesn’t store them.
- Query parameters (for example hidden field values) are removed from the link.
- The frame isn’t ratio-locked, so you can make it as tall as your form needs.
- After a version update, motions don’t carry over on their own. When you open the editor after an update, FeatPaper asks whether to copy the previous version’s motion content to the same pages and positions.
Frequently asked questions
Section titled “Frequently asked questions”The editor says my link isn't supported. What is wrong?
The link isn’t in a format the EMBED tab accepts. Check it against the link shape in Get the link ready above. The editor checks only the link format, so a valid link to content that isn’t shared publicly can still show an error inside the frame.
How does it look on a phone?
The frame shows as a blurred card. Tapping it opens Tally full screen in a bottom sheet.
What happens when someone downloads the PDF?
The frame becomes a thumbnail or logo that links back to that page in the reading view, and a QR code is added at the bottom right of the page (unless the document’s QR setting is off).
Can I pass hidden fields through the link?
No. FeatPaper drops query parameters when it converts a Tally link, so hidden field values in the URL don’t reach the form.
Which Tally link should I use?
Any of tally.so/r/..., tally.so/forms/..., or tally.so/embed/... works. The /r/ share link is the easiest to copy.
