Embed Spotify music in a PDF

Yes, you can embed Spotify music in a PDF with FeatPaper. Paste a Spotify track or playlist link into the EMBED tab and a Spotify player appears on the page. Viewers can press play without leaving the document.

  • A press kit or EPK that lets people hear the single
  • A brand guideline doc with the campaign’s sound
  • An event invitation with the playlist for the night
  • A pitch deck for a music or audio project

FeatPaper accepts only track and playlist links:

https://open.spotify.com/track/XXXXXXXX
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/XXXXXXXX

Spotify embed links (open.spotify.com/embed/...) also work.

  1. Open the song or playlist in Spotify.
  2. Open the share menu (… → Share).
  3. Choose Copy Song Link or Copy link to playlist.

Spotify’s support page covers sharing from each app. See Official guides below.

Open the Content tab

Open your document in FeatPaper and go to the Content tab. Only people with edit rights see the editor.

Open the editor

Click the Add video or link card. The motion editor opens full screen.

Pick the page and the EMBED tab

Select the page in the left sidebar, then click EMBED in the toolbar.

Paste the Spotify link

Paste the link into the Embed URL field and click Add. If you copied a link with extra tracking parameters, that works.

Place and resize it

The player lands in the middle of the page at half the page width, in a 16:9 frame. Drag it to move it and drag the handles to resize. The ratio isn’t locked, so you can make it taller or wider.

Save

Click SAVE & EXIT.

  • Desktop: The Spotify player sits on the page. Depending on their Spotify login, they may hear a preview or the full track.
  • Mobile: On a phone, the Spotify area shows as a blurred card. Tapping it opens Spotify full screen in a bottom sheet, so it stays usable on a small screen.
  • Downloaded PDF: A PDF can’t run an embed. FeatPaper puts the Spotify logo in its place, linked to that page of the shared link, and adds a QR code at the bottom right of the page. If you turn off the document’s QR setting, the QR code isn’t added.
  • Embeds don’t count toward any plan limit and have no size limit. You can use them on every plan, Starter included.
  • FeatPaper checks only the link format when you click Add. Whether content appears depends on the sharing settings in Spotify.
  • You can also paste iframe embed code. FeatPaper pulls out the src="…" address, as long as it uses double quotes.
  • After a version update, motions don’t carry over on their own. When you open the editor, FeatPaper asks whether to copy the previous version’s motion content to the same pages and positions.
  • Playback length depends on Spotify, not FeatPaper. Viewers who aren’t logged in to Spotify may hear only a preview.
  • The player is compact. You can shrink the frame to fit a corner of the page.
I pasted the link and got "The embed URL is not supported". What should I check?

The link isn’t in a format FeatPaper accepts for Spotify. Go back to Spotify and copy the link described in Get the link ready above, then paste it again.

How does it look on a phone?

Viewers see a blurred card on the page. One tap opens Spotify full screen in a bottom sheet.

What happens if someone downloads the PDF?

The embed can’t play inside a PDF. The Spotify logo takes its place and links to that page of the shared link, and a QR code appears at the bottom right of the page.

Can't I use an album link?

Not yet. FeatPaper accepts track and playlist links only. Put the album’s tracks in a playlist and embed that instead.

Can I embed a podcast episode?

No. Podcast, show and episode links are rejected. Use a LINK area to send viewers to the episode on Spotify.
