Embed a Loom video in a PDF

Yes, you can embed a Loom video in a PDF with FeatPaper. Paste the Loom share link into the EMBED tab and FeatPaper turns it into Loom’s embedded player. Viewers watch your walkthrough on the page it explains, without leaving the document.

  • A personal intro recorded for one prospect, placed on the cover of a sales deck
  • A proposal where you walk through pricing in your own voice
  • An onboarding doc with a short screen recording for each step
  • A project update where the video sits next to the numbers it explains

FeatPaper accepts Loom share and embed links:

https://www.loom.com/share/XXXXXXXX
https://www.loom.com/embed/XXXXXXXX

FeatPaper converts a share link to Loom’s embed player for you.

  1. Open the recording in Loom.
  2. Click Share.
  3. Check the link access so that people who open the document can watch it.
  4. Copy the link.

Loom’s help pages explain the sharing and access options. See Official guides below.

Open the Content tab

Open your document in FeatPaper and go to the Content tab. Only people with edit rights see the editor.

Open the editor

Click the Add video or link card. The motion editor opens full screen.

Pick the page and the EMBED tab

Select the page in the left sidebar, then click EMBED in the toolbar.

Paste the Loom link

Paste the link into the Embed URL field and click Add. FeatPaper converts it to Loom’s embed player automatically.

Place and resize it

The video lands in the middle of the page at half the page width, in a 16:9 frame. Drag it to move it and drag the handles to resize. The ratio isn’t locked, so you can make it taller or wider.

Save

Click SAVE & EXIT.

  • Desktop: The Loom player sits on the page, and they press play to watch.
  • Mobile: On a phone, the Loom area shows as a blurred card. Tapping it opens Loom full screen in a bottom sheet, so it stays usable on a small screen.
  • Downloaded PDF: A PDF can’t run an embed. FeatPaper puts the Loom logo in its place, linked to that page of the shared link, and adds a QR code at the bottom right of the page. If you turn off the document’s QR setting, the QR code isn’t added.
  • Embeds don’t count toward any plan limit and have no size limit. You can use them on every plan, Starter included.
  • FeatPaper checks only the link format when you click Add. Whether content appears depends on the sharing settings in Loom.
  • You can also paste iframe embed code. FeatPaper pulls out the src="…" address, as long as it uses double quotes.
  • After a version update, motions don’t carry over on their own. When you open the editor, FeatPaper asks whether to copy the previous version’s motion content to the same pages and positions.
  • Loom videos go through EMBED, not VIDEO. The VIDEO tab accepts only YouTube and Vimeo links or uploaded files.
  • Because a Loom embed doesn’t count toward the video limit, it is a handy way to add walkthroughs on the Starter plan.
I pasted the link and got "The embed URL is not supported". What should I check?

The link isn’t in a format FeatPaper accepts for Loom. Go back to Loom and copy the link described in Get the link ready above, then paste it again.

How does it look on a phone?

Viewers see a blurred card on the page. One tap opens Loom full screen in a bottom sheet.

What happens if someone downloads the PDF?

The embed can’t play inside a PDF. The Loom logo takes its place and links to that page of the shared link, and a QR code appears at the bottom right of the page.

Should I use the VIDEO tab for Loom?

No. The VIDEO tab takes only YouTube, Vimeo or an uploaded file. Paste Loom links into EMBED.

Can I see who watched the Loom video?

FeatPaper doesn’t record plays inside an embed. It does show who opened the document and how long they spent on the page with the video. Loom’s own insights may show more.
